I just got back from another incredible yoga retreat—this time in beautiful Costa Rica! I had the opportunity to attend again as both a student and the retreat photographer, and it was just as special (if not more) than last year. I’m feeling so grateful, recharged, and deeply connected.
When Sam started planning the 2026 Yoga Strong Retreat in Costa Rica, I knew right away I wanted to be part of it. After such an amazing experience in Holbox, I couldn’t wait to see what this one would bring. Getting to combine yoga, photography, travel, and meaningful connection in a place like Costa Rica is something I don’t take for granted.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this week was going to be something special. The setting was absolutely stunning—lush, vibrant, and peaceful all at once. Even more special, we had the entire resort, Vista Celestial to ourselves, which created such an intimate and relaxed environment. The staff was over-the-top amazing—so kind, attentive, and welcoming—and the food was incredible.
Mornings started slow with coffee and quiet moments, followed by yoga in the jungle with the most beautiful views. I loved being able to fully participate while also capturing the experience—sneaking around with my camera to document meaningful moments. After yoga, we’d gather for breakfast, sharing good food and even better conversation.
From there, there were so many options of different ways to spend our day. Some time was spent exploring, some relaxing, and a lot of it connecting. We moved a lot and also spent time poolside.
We also had a few standout excursions that made the week even more memorable. We visited a local coffee farm, which was such a unique experience—learning the process and, of course, enjoying the coffee. We also spent a day at Nauyaca Waterfall, which was absolutely breathtaking. Being surrounded by that kind of natural beauty is something you don’t forget. And one of the most fun days was our beach party at Hermosa Beach—sunset, food and drink provided by our wonderful resort team, music, and just pure joy with the best group of people.
Evenings were spent with another yoga session on the pool deck overlooking the mountainside and ocean. Then we'd gather together for dinner, which was one of my favorite parts of the day. There’s something so special about slowing down, sharing a meal, and connecting after a full day.
I left this retreat feeling so full—in the best way. Full of gratitude, connection, inspiration, and appreciation for this experience. It’s not lost on me how special it is to do what I love in places like this, with such amazing people.
If you’ve ever thought about joining a retreat like this, let this be your sign. It’s so much more than just a trip—it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave.
