When I moved from Massachusetts to North Carolina in 2015, I was excited about rebuilding my photography business in a new location. While it was overwhelming, took LOTS of time to build up, and sometimes a little more difficult than I expected, I am so thrilled that I stuck with it. I am happily running my business in this wonderful town.
THE PEOPLE - Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. Southern hospitality truly is a thing! It's been a wonderful experience meeting new people, families, and fellow business owners. One of my favorite things about being a photographer is watching families grow and being there with them for their important milestones.
LOCATIONS - It has been a ton of fun seeking out photography locations in my new home. I continue to find new spots year after year. Some fun locations have been cotton fields, Christmas tree lots, tulip field, different farms, nurseries, and parks. Of course taking photos in your own home and yard is always special, I have had the privilege of being welcomed into many homes for sessions.
COMMUNITY - Over the years I've taken part in many different volunteer opportunities and I'm always looking for ways to give back. One way I've done this is by donating a portion of my session and event fees to Donors Choose, supporting teachers and classrooms right here in Pitt County. As a Winterville Chamber of Commerce member, I've had the chance to meet many other wonderful business owners and attend and/or photograph many of their fun events. The town motto is "A Slice of the Good Life" and I find that to be very fitting.
Everyday I continue to work on different ways to grow my business, meet new people, and collaborate with others. I look forward to new opportunities that lie ahead!
