1st proposed by poet Jila Ward Howe, suggested after the Civil War to recognize peace and protest war. She organized events in Boston to honor mothers.
Ann Jarvis had no children, campaigned for the holiday. She worked to provide resources for poor mothers.
Became a holiday in 1914 - Woodrow Wilson
Mother (n) - a person who loves unconditionally; the maker and keeper of precious memories; a person much loved and greatly admired.
I am so lucky to have the best mom along with wonderful mother figure role models in my life. From aunts, to sisters in law, to friends, to cousins, and many others in between....I admire you all so much.
