It's the courage to raise a child that makes you a father ~ Barack Obama
This year I won't see my dad on Father's Day, but I'll see him next week so we can celebrate together then! I'm so grateful that we are able to travel and get together with family and friends again. My Dad has always been there for me. He is one of the hardest working people I know, he puts his family and career on the top of his list. But he also makes time for fun! He loves golfing, swimming, and spending time with family. I miss my parents tons and I can't thank them enough for guiding me to the place I am today. They are wonderful role models. So on this Father's Day, I say THANK YOU Dad. Enjoy your day, I'm sure you'll spend it golfing and poolside. :)
This photo was taken 3 days after I was born. My mom wrote on the back of it "Your daddy didn't hesitate holding right on to you. And you snuggled right into his arms."
Happy Father's Day!

I've missed my family so much over this past year. I'm so thrilled that this year I get to spend Mother's Day weekend in Massachusetts!! As I was thinking about Mother's Day this year, I decided to look at some old photos. I found this one of my mom and me, taken 3 days after I was born and she became a mom for the first time. She wrote on the back, "Jan. 4, 1976 Truesdale Hospital, Fall River You were the most beautiful infant in the nursery! And we were the proudest parents!" I am grateful for my mom everyday, and I especially want her to know today, on Mother's Day, how lucky I am to have her in my life. All I can say is THANK YOU and that is not even enough.
In addition to my mom, I have great female role models in my life. Aunts, cousins, in laws, friends, colleagues, and more! Mothers are the strongest women I'll ever meet and I hope they all know how amazing that they are. It truly does take a village and none of us would be where we are today without amazing moms...our own and others who come into our lives in big and small ways.
I hope all the moms out there enjoy their special day. Happy Mother's Day!

Spring has sprung and I am loving my outdoor sessions! Last week I had a wonderful time taking Avery and Emily's engagement photos. They went to ECU and live near Uptown, so we decided Town Common would be the perfect location. It was a beautiful day and the park was crowded, but we managed to work around it all. It was great to see so many people out and about enjoying the Spring weather! There are so many great spots around the park...the river, the bridge, brick wall, trees, flowers. One of my favorite things about shooting at Town Common is all the trees! There is such a variety and so many pretty ones to use.
Enjoy a peek at their session and contact me to book yours today. This time of year is perfect!!

For me, one of the first signs of Spring is when the daffodils start popping up. There's a gem of a spot down the street from me with the cutest daffodil field. Although I've taken photos there several times before, last week I decided to go take a walk around, soak up the Spring weather, and take some new photos.
I'll be looking for some new spots to take photos this Spring, if you have a favorite, please share it with me!

I shop, drink, and eat local and small as much as possible. The quality is usually better anyway, and as a small business owner I understand the importance of supporting each other.
