“A father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.” – Unknown
Father's Day was first celebrated on June 18, 1910 in the state of Washington. Father's Day was founded at the YMCA by Sonora Smart Dodd. Her father was a Civil War veteran and a single parent who raised six children. The day honoring fathers became an official holiday in 1972 when Woodrow Wilson was President.

How will you celebrate Father's Day with your dad or children's dad this year? My dad is up in Massachusetts and we won't be together. We will send gifts and plan a family video chat. I hope he gets to spend the day golfing his heart out!
