Branding Session

Several months ago I needed to update my professional photos, so I reached out to my friend and fellow photographer, Lia to set up a session. We had a fun afternoon Uptown Greenville and I've been using the photos often for different projects and posts.  Today I got to take Lia's branding photos for her website, social media, and professional use.  We met in her town, Kinston, NC. We started off at an adorable coffee shop, Middle Grounds. We lucked out, as it wasn't too busy at the time and took some fun, creative shots. Then we wandered down the street to a mural and a couple of brick alley spots. It was a lot of fun! As photographers we are always behind the lens and don't often get in front of it.

We both learned some lessons from these sessions. Getting in front of the camera is not easy! It can be awkward. We had a conversation about how we both now better understand how our clients feel when we are having them pose.  It usually takes a little time for people to warm up and get comfortable being photographed. Having our photos taken gave us both a better appreciation for what posing and following direction feels like. We agreed that this experience will help us to be even better photographers.  Check out a few of my faves that I took of Lia!
