I love to share my photography adventures with all of you, check back often!
What are you doing to celebrate Mother's Day this year? Sadly, I won't get to spend the day with my mom, but I'll be photographing newborns at the hospital. Spending my day taking photos of Moms and their new babies is very special. So if I can't be with my mom on Mother's Day, I think it's the next best thing!
Although many people say Mother's Day has become too commercialized, it's neat to take a look at the origin of the holiday. It was first proposed by poet Julia Ward Howe after the Civil War. Her idea was to recognize peace and protest war, while supporting mourning mothers. She organized events in Boston to honor mothers. It didn't really catch on as a holiday. Later, Ann Jarvis, who had no children, campaigned for the holiday. She worked hard to provide resources for poor mothers. It became a holiday declared by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914. It is celebrated on the second Sunday of May.
Enjoy some of the beautiful photos I've captured of moms over the last year. Including a selfie of me and my wonderful, caring, amazing, strong, fun Mom.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be out there! You all rock! And especially to my own mom, family, and friends who are moms....I love you!

The East Carolina University campus is beautiful. From the trees and flowers to different landmarks such as the cupola, fountain, and of course the pirate, there are so many great spots to take photos. Senior portraits are special to photograph. It is such a major accomplishment for students and I truly enjoy capturing this milestone for them. Last week the Spring weather had arrived and it was a gorgeous day for a senior photo session.
Of course, I always love having pets join our photo sessions. Enjoy!
I look forward to photographing more ECU students. Contact me to set up your session:

Run for a Reason
Inspired by my parents and grandparents, I have always had a passion for giving back to my community. I am so fortunate that I'm able to use my photography to do good deeds. Whether it's donating my time to take photos or contributing proceeds from my sessions, it's always an honor.
I'm a member of the Greenville Women's League and I get to participate in a variety of wonderful events all year long. Last week we hosted a 5K benefitting juvenile diabetes research. One of the best things about this event is that run clubs from our local elementary schools participate. It's a lot of fun to see schools, students, parents, families, and local runners come together as a community to support an important cause. An amazing 14 year old patient who was recently diagnosed with diabetes presented an inspiring speech sharing his story with everyone. It was a beautiful morning filled with music, photos, food, and running. The race consisted of a 5K run and a 1 mile fun run/walk. I was so proud of everyone!

You probably know by now, I love getting together with my creative peers to work on projects together. On a beautiful Saturday in March I spent the afternoon with Katie and Ryann for an outdoor Spring photo session. We chose Uptown Greenville for the shoot and we took some park pictures on the bridge at Town Commons, as well as some street photography in the middle of Uptown. Katie chose a pretty, soft Spring look and also incorporated some fun, Irish green just in time for St. Patrick's Day. Ryan did a great job bringing Katie's vision to life and her hair and make-up complimented her style for the day perfectly. I'm looking forward to more creative fun with these beautiful ladies and also working with them on an upcoming fashion show in Raleigh. I will keep you posted with more on that, stay tuned!

I love outdoor sessions so much, and I'm excited for the 2019 Spring and Summer season! I did a session this week, it was a gorgeous day...70 and sunny. This handsome guy was a blast to work with. He was so cute, polite, playful, and loved having his photo taken. And how adorable is his outfit and hat?!
